well my head doesnt hurt as much, my neck doesnt feel clogged up now, all it took was a hot drink of blackcurrent squash, lol. still might try asprin disolved in water though, that might help more.

helicopter outside is much easier to control, as long as there is no wind i guess or it would be screwed, battery drains quicker outside though, so ive left it on charge and come inside to make this post

well im starting to feel ill again >.< probally due to my sister being ill and she coughs everuwhere without covering her mouth, so yeah, my immune system is on overdrive atm, so i feel shit. i think its just more dehydration and a warm neck that is wrong with me, should clear up after a day or two. Gonna try to get some ice-cream to cool my neck down, and in turn that cools my head down, yay.

So much going on atm, ashliegh is moving to america in the summer, so ill never properly see her again :( i have so much revision to do atm, its a pain, 5 exams, all have to have note cards done by today, soi have a week to revise for core 2,3, and stats. its really really getting to me now, even more that i feel like crap :(

well thats it for now, might go practice my skills flying my helicopter for abit, but really need to get some food down me, i havnt eaten much in the past few days

well havnt made a post in a while so thought i would. Its been a good week so far, got my motherboard back so have full function of the DH remote which is fucking awsome, so much better for using my pc, but i need 1 last thing for my pc, media centre front panel, which is gonna cost £50, so i will have to save for that >.< server also needs changing as the ip settings have fucked up since i upgraded to a faster LAN, bugger or what. not long till christmas now, Still not sure if im gonna go out on xmas eve, might go for a few drinks but not too many, as i want to get the last bus home, so im gonna stay out till 11ish (i say that now, but i know fine well its gonna be later) just the taxi fare's are gonna be a con that night, so fuck them.

Currently sitting on the 360's dash listening to cascadas new album which i like, its got some good tracks on it, others annoy me. Finished my map for sunday, ill post some preview pics at the end of this so anyone who looks on here can see.

Revision sucks, big time, ive done so much towards maths and im still no cleaer, although stats is starting to make sense now, as i just need the forumlae to do the questions, such as Sxx and Sxy etc. cba to learn them as i know i get them in the booklet. Havnt started ICT yet as i have plenty of time for it, but will make revision cards for it after christmas.

more stuff from play came though, my HD-dvd's i think were in the packets, the price sounds about right, as we got 10% off everything, yay! just got to hope my dads stuff gets here in time, cos its uber.

Its freezing today

well its bloody cold today isn't it :( woke up late so had to rush to get to 1st lesson, again >.< im not liking my sleep pattern atm, its driving me nuts

anyway, im suppose to be getting my motherboard back today, but city shite aka city link havn't arrived yet, so im not happy, + im getting stuff tomorrow too, so its not good if they don't come, as i will have to wait until Monday when no-one is in or ring ebuyer n demand a sat delivery, which i refuse to pay for as stuff would be 2 days late. so Meh?

ive built a few maps on forge since the new maps came out the other day, 2/3 race tracks and 1 football map, they are all good fun, also started work on my super uber secret map, which people will see on xmas day hopefully, if i get it finished in time

next Thursday the bayage reunion drink, that is gonna be fun, having a drink with all those people i ain't talked to in a long time. not sure if im gonna go out on xmas eve thou, id rather wait till new year and i don't want a hangover on xmas day, cos i wont enjoy the food.

youlesy is in a mood again, he needs to stop regretting stuff and just move on, we've all had to move on from loosing out on things, gonna try and get him to play some halo tonight to help get his mind off things after ive done some revision

great, yet another crappy day

well i thought yesterday was shit, today was just crap

got up at around 9 as i couldn't sleep anymore, even though i went to bed at like 2am. so i had a fry up for breakfast, thought to myself today looks as if it will be good, as i never get asked if i want bacon etc, its just the normal you wern't up and we shouted, well dur, if im asleep i wont hear a thing will i, ffs, and the parents call me the stupid one. so i had breakfast up stairs as i wanted to watch 300, which im hopefully getting on HD-DVD for xmas. so then the rest of the family go off to coscos for shopping and food, without me, even though i asked if i could go as i wanted a crate of cider. So yeah, no drink for me yet ¬.¬ Nest thing is i start watching star wars, but i start to have a hypo, so i wander downstairs and have 3 biscuits to raise my blood glucose. I then watch the rest of star wars, then turn on this program about satellites and shit, which i found interesting. then once that is half way i get asked how many eggs i want with my chips, and then i go down and get them, then i get shouted at for stealing a flake and eating the biscuits. im like what the fuck are you on about, i have no idea where the flakes are. then im told you must of cos your sister hasnt taken any so it must be you. so then i got angry and told em to fuck off. which seems to happen alot now, which is kinda depressing, alot infact, very depressing. so now ive just been in my room doing fuck all, so now ive decieded im hungry and went for some food and a hot drink to help me sleep, which doesnt really work very well tbh

I think Ive known him the longest out of my best friends =D I met him in cubs when i started off up here and didnt have much communication with him til explorers where nearly every week we'd bring an xbox and play halo, actually one of the main reasons hes a hero to me is because he introduced me to xbox live and halo 2 and without that in my life i dont know what i would of done [it ranks up with high near to friends but not as close as jenna =P] Also he likes naruto so theres a lot we can talk about, oo and Guild wars, I miss playing that with him, but Im at a stage where my character and my heroes suck so i hardly play now. =/ He is also great to get advice from or jst have a good chat, hes mostly a calm person [cept when yelling at me on halo <.<] and gets the shittest of luck =/, but he keeps moving on =D. He's 18 in his 3rd year of college st thomas moore catholic school and is planning on going to uni next year, hes got diabetes, which is a funny story ill tell later, and a super cool setup. I hope he meets that special someone (Y).

so that cheered me up for abit. i think im just gonna have to plod along for the next few months. i think i will go to prom again this year, already have my eye on a few girls who would be fun to take, not gonna do nowt yet, wont make the same mistake as last time though.

well thats it for now, gonna go listen to the classical soundtracks from movies and games i have, and then in the morning its collage 1st thing, will probs go to big tesco for lunch and maybe buy a bottle of magners for the night time to help me sort things over in my head, or just drink it while i play halo

Well seen as i havnt done a new entry in a while, i thought i would, few things have happened since my last blog, so i thought i would write about them

1st: server has gained more software, now i have FTP that will save me so much time, still lots of more things i want to test on it thou, but more to come i guess

2nd: 2v2 is tonight, me and youlesy are quite happy that we trained alot y'day, and we are getting some final practice in tonight before the match at 10pm. We should have a good chnace, as we both know each others strengths and weakness's, for example, im a moaning twat and youlesy doesnt listen to where i say the other team are. So yeah, thats gonna be fun

3rd: still no call back from pc world :( although i am not giving up hope yet, they did say a few weeks, so there is still hope. Its not that I need the money, it would just be nice to be able to go out more

4th: matchbox360, its a piss take over there atm, no-one can understand that an AR start is just as good as a BR start, id like to see them use the same logic on a game like CSS for example, they would just be laughed at, as you should work for a better weapon, not be given it to start.

Home Server Part 3

SO its time to configure the OS once its installed and updated, im using ubunutu for this server

first go to system, admin, and click on shared folders, and install the packages it wants, you normally click ok

then open up the shared folders application, click on the wired (or whatever way you are conencting to the network) and click properties, from there, name and comment the folder in the correct field, then uncheck the read only tab, and then click ok



we now want5 to assign a static IP, so go into system, admin, and then network

from there you want to click on your connection, properties, and then change it to stsic ip, and add the correct ip address, im using 192.168.1.11 for my servers, and all other computers get from 192.168.1.101 to 192.168.1.109 before going any higher



this step is not required, but it helps alot IMO

go to system, preferences, and then remote desktop, and change the options to the same as the screenshot below



to connect via windows xp.vista, download the following program http://www.tightvnc.com/ and follow the steps on it,

next comes the hard part, open up the terminal by going to applications, accessories, and then click terminal

in the terminal, type each of the follwoing lines, and click enter after each line

sudo mkdir /home/public
sudo chmod 777 /home/public/
sudo cp /etc/samba/smb.conf /etc/samba/smb.conf_backup
gksudo gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf

then find this line

; security = user

change it to this

security = share <- notice there is no semicolon, the colon should be removed

now go to the end of the docuemnt, and change everything below [public] so it looks like this

[public]
comment = Public Folder
path = /home/public
guest ok = yes
read only = no
create mask = 0777
directory mask = 0777
force user = nobody
force group = nogroup

then save and close the document

go back into terminal, and type

sudo testparm
sudo /etc/init.d/samba restart

and there you go, the file server is ready for action

i have yet to figure out how to disable the username and password on startup, i will update below once i learn how


but for now, thats pretty much how to build a very cheap server for the home, ive spent around £40 on this, so its very good IMO

Home Server Part 2

Right, its monday afternoon, and ive finally got a chance to say what ive been up to this morning

I started the day woken up by angry parents complaining the postman woke them when my stuff came, 3 parcels, 1 for the cpy, and 2 for the various mobos i bought

I looked at the different socket A mobos i got from ebay, and decieded the winfast k7s was a good enough board for what i wanted, so here its is



Next i checked to ensure the cpu was in good order, which it was



I then placed the cpu into its socket praying to god i didnt bend a pin



Then the heatsink/fan combo went on, that cost me £4 from ebuyer brand new, so its worth remembering cooling is a must and it should have a good bit of money set aside for it



next on went the front panel conections, the most annoying part of any build, unless you have an asus board, where you get these easy connector things



and then on went the IDE drive cables





The next part was the worst, would it boot??



well thank god it did, and its very quiet tbh, even with the side off i can only just hear the CPU fan. Linux is easy to install, its just like installing windows, boot, insert disk, reboot, boot from disk, install and then customise

i will update once i have finished the OS side of things

Home Server

well today is the day i get most of my 2nd hand/new parts for my servers today, i cant wait to be playing around with linux remotly, its costing me around 120 for 2-3 servers, depends on how i use the parts tbh, as my sister needs a new pc, so she might end up with an amd socket 754 while i use socket A for the servers. linux itself is great for this sorta stuff, anything you want to do can be done on linux, as its openware, there is a massive community behind it. A couple of people on matchbox are also interested how this turns out, so i will have to show them how it turns out.

and if you are wondering why socket A, its simple, it is dirt cheap to get the parts. I have around 4 socket a mobos that i can choose from, and 1 socket 754, ill probs end up with 2 boards spare that i will give a clean and a test, and then sell them back at a small profit, which is reasonable i think, as i bought 3 mobos for under £30, thats including P+p via royal pain. will update with pics and more notes on how the builds go

Eve online

well i kept my promise and i bought eve online again, its a really nice game to play when your bored, got myself a few new tricks that ive noticed (thanks to azure for the help)currently just mining for materials atm, as its an easy way to get money, so im saving up for a mining ship, which will allow me to mine like a bitch for an hour, then rake in loads of cash :) gfx are superb, even better on my new pc. 20 euros to reactivate my account, boyah!

End of exams

well exams are finally over for good, now im back to where i was a year ago, but things are alot different, from me feally confident in myself again,and to my social life picking back up.

on the pc side ofthings, finished my new pc, specs are as follows

Ez cool G5 Case; P5W DH; E4400 ; 2Gig corsair 667; Igreen 600W; Seagate 320; X1950pro; 2x DVD-RW; artic pro 7 cpu cooler;17" tft, MLK blue keyboard and mouse OS: vista home premium

quite a nice setup tbh, will take a picture of it later maybe, i really like how its only cost me around £700 and thats including vista and a 2nd screen, which isnt too bad. just a few things to buy as extras, and then once 1TB drives come down in price i will buy 2 of them, mainly for video editing, as i plan to get back into that

work wise its getting great, finally feel as if i know everyone in my department, and the fact some of the people are great, you know who your are. i can deffinatly feel the whole work thing is helping me get ontop of my diabeties, feeling alot stronger now

just a few things to really sort out now i guess.

will try to update again tomorrow, as i have plenty of time to myself for now :)

beta goodness

well the halo3 beta came out the other day, and it rules

im currently a grade 2 corporal which does take some time to get to, but not that long, the game rules, i love the ATV, me and youlesy abuse them to so we can get to places fast, think the ghost - weapons, and you have the mongoose which rules!!!!!!!!!!

meh, time to go play on the beta for a while, then go to work :(

well ive finally started putting my new pc together, and the mobo is great, lots of features on it

but now ive been able to get the lighting working, had to stick mobo in, which im not bothered about, as it rules

and back to the boring bit, realised I hadn't made a post in a month :0 so i thought id make 1

well, its been a good sort of month, finally got my 360, which was a good deal, £280 for full 360 + gears n vegas from Pc world, so im happy, the 360 itself is brilliant, easy to set up, recovered my GT within 0 mins, didn't realise I used the wrong symbol for 5 mins thou, which annoyed me somewhat. But it was worth the wait i guess, as gears is the best game ive played in a long time, i guess only the 1st time i played halo2 can come on par with it

speaking of halo2, i officially suck at it atm, as the control scheme is nasty after playing gears, cant get the look inversion right now either, which is a pain, what i will have to do is to reset myself to play both games inverted, and that will take some time

on the collage side of things, my revision is going well, i have my chemistry test on the 11th so im working on that mostly, then i have my ict 1 resit, followed by ict 5 and then D1 maths, ow the joy

and finally, being single sucks, especially for new years time as well as other parties, gets really annoying to be the only 1 whos single, grrr
